WHO’S SHE?

 

I started building websites in the ’90s with just HTML and CSS, took a few scenic detours—film school, military service, nude modelling, backpacking Asia—and eventually landed where I belong: building great products on the web.

Since graduating from Lighthouse Labs, I’ve focused on frontend development that delivers real value to users—shipping features that are fast, intuitive, and solve actual problems. I thrive in collaborative teams and love turning complex requirements into seamless experiences.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Senior Frontend Engineer II

Synctera, San Francisco CA (remote)

Nov 2023–Present

  • Company: Banking as a service that powers embedded finance.
  • Partnered with product managers to translate compliance requirements into intuitive UI workflows, reducing customer support tickets by 30%.
  • Improved web app loading time by an average of 2 seconds (FCP & INP) by applying React best practices and orchestrating loading.

Lead Frontend Engineer

Samdesk, Edmonton, AB (remote)

Feb 2022–Sept 2023

  • Company: Real time crisis alerts for security teams of Fortune 500 companies.
  • Led front-end architecture and team development, rebuilding the SPA from scratch, establishing tech standards (naming, linting, CI/CD), and hiring/mentoring a high-performing dev team.
  • Shipped performant, maintainable UIs by designing reusable components, enforcing code quality practices, and collaborating across design, product, and backend to deliver seamless user experiences.

Jan 2020–Feb 2022

  • Company: Stock photography COOP that provides a platform for artists to be paid well for their work.
  • Modernized and optimized a large-scale frontend codebase by refactoring features into functional React + TypeScript components, improving Webpack build speeds ~10x, and reducing bundle size through long-term packaging strategies.
  • Elevated developer experience and code quality by creating a shared component library, championing TypeScript, expanding test coverage (Jest, RTL), and setting team-wide standards for code style, accessibility, and analytics tracking.
